About the project

Flour Power Bakery, a 50-year-old business with rich family history, required a full visual identity and digital strategy to support its objective of expanding online sales and reaching neighboring communities. As the Lead Designer and Strategist, I grounded the project in thorough research, focusing on competitor analysis and developing a detailed customer persona ("David") to ensure the solution was authentic and highly targeted. The branding was built upon the core values of Quality, Community, and Family, creating a design that would bring comfort to their target audience. The resulting brand is a cohesive system that successfully conveys warmth and modernity, with a clean and comforting feel. The distinctive logomark cleverly combines a flower and a whisk within a bread shape, providing distinction from the competition. The full identity included a warm color palette, a vintage-feel font system, custom brand assets (like the hexagonal pattern and illustrations), and a clear photography direction that emphasizes community and tradition. This comprehensive visual system now provides a clear, actionable foundation for the bakery's sustained success and growth.

Project Details

This was a comprehensive Brand Identity and Digital Strategy project for Flour Power Bakery, a family-inherited business specializing in baked goods with over 50 years of tradition. The primary challenge was the lack of defined branding and a web presence, which was hindering their business goals to expand online sales and reach neighboring communities. The core solution delivered was a full visual identity system, including a distinctive logomark, a warm color palette, and a social media strategy emphasizing comfort and community. This effort successfully established a cohesive, high-quality brand that visually differentiates the bakery and aligns with its future goals of growth and online expansion.

Things I Did

I initiated the project by focusing on the brand's foundations, identifying their Purpose, Mission, and Vision to anchor all future design decisions in their core values of Family, Community, and Tradition. This deep strategic dive led to the development of a psychographically detailed Target Audience persona, which ensured all messaging and visuals were highly resonant with the ideal customer.

My design process included a comprehensive Competitor Analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation, which led to the creation of a unique logomark that intentionally avoids current industry trends. I then executed the full visual identity, crafting responsive logo variations, a curated font selection (Raleway and Marion) , and a complementary color palette (Coffee Bean, Dough, Butterjam). Finally, I defined the Brand Assets and Photography Style to ensure brand cohesion across every physical and digital touchpoint, including packaging and social media.
